An increasing number of children and adolescents are demonstrating symptoms of and being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, including social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and separation anxiety. This session will a) explore some of the social and personal factors that contribute to the development of anxiety and b) discuss some of the practical strategies that we can use to support children and youth dealing with an anxiety disorder. Particular attention will be given to the family systems that contribute to anxiety disorders in children and youth.
